Athletic/Lifting Background: "Sprinting, Volleyball, Basketball, Javelin, Cross country running, Dance"
"I remember overhearing my coach in grade 11 track talking to the assistant coach. He said that I just "ooze athlete." That was funny. I also was always the only kid in high school eating tuna and rice at lunch."
"I've been lifting for 11 years. I was 115 lbs when I started at about 17% body fat. I am now 140 lbs at 15% bodyfat during my off-season...quite the change."
"Most people are really stunned by how much muscle I have now. A lot of my accounts were really shocked to see me in short sleeves for the first time as my big jacket in the winter would cover most of my body."
Do strength and fitness come natural to you or is it mostly hard work: "It comes naturally."
Are you competitive? "Very much so and it exhibits itself in my career and in my athletic life. I always strive to be the best.
"My proudest accomplishment to date is to be able to compete against the best in Canada and do well.
"I am very self-motivated and always have been. If I want something, I go and get it. I use a lot of mental imagery.
"I love figure/ fitness because you have to push your body to its limits and it is a lifestyle, not just something you do for the time-being."
On reaction she gets around the gym: "I receive a lot of compliments. People are great!"
Future Goals: "I hope to obtain IFBB pro figure status this year at Nationals. My first Pro show would then be the June show in Toronto. I plan to use my IFBB pro status with my other qualifications to create a name in the business end of the industry."
