Athletic/Lifting Background: "I just remember in high school, friends would watch me while I was cheering and make fun of my biceps because they were so huge!

"I actually started lifting during track in high school, but didn't stick to it. I started getting serious about weights almost 2 years ago (I'm 33)!!! I grew up trying to imitate the olympic gymnasts (and still do on occassion). So, I've always been involved in some sort of athletics and continue to challenge myself with tri-athalons and fitness competitions."

On her role models in fitness and bodybuilding: "Cory Everson is the reason I wanted to lift weights! She was so symetrical and feminine that I aspired to one day be that fit! As far as fitness competitors, I admire Susie Curry for her ability to remain the #1 Fitness Olympia competitor several years in a row! It's such hard work and truly takes a person with as much mental power as physical."

Has lifting had a positive impact on your life and how?: "Just knowing that I can sculpt my body into my most desireable shape is very powerful and helps me gain discipline and confidence in other areas of my life. I'm also doing more with my dreams and goals because of my fitness level!"

On her motivation as an athlete?: "Knowing that I could possibly inspire just one person to want to raise their level of health and fitness."

On the reactions she gets from people who notice her physique: "For the most part, men are impressed that a chick can look more muscular than them. Women actually comment more often on my physique!"

On what are her strongest and weakest muscle groups: "My strongest is my biceps! They seem to be naturally defined. My weakest would be my rear delts! Lifting and focusing on my rear delts actually helped me reduce some chronic numbness in my hands because of this imbalance."

On doing her part to win the battle of the sexes: "Well, one time my husband and I were working out with a trainer and by the end of the workout, he was nauseous and I was still standing! I think because I'm the competitor, I feel like I should be out-doing most of the people in the gym (guys and girls alike)."

What are your future goals in fitness? "My ultimate goal is to turn Pro and compete in Ms. Fitness Olympia. I'd love to accomplish that within 2 years!!"

Final thoughts: "I'm a mother of two preschool boys and I truly hope to turn the stereotype of "moms" around. We can all remain fit and beautiful even with the demands of little ones and post-pregnancy pounds! Keep working hard!"
