My
boyfriend is a seasoned bodybuilder and a very knowledgeable
trainer. One year ago, I decided to go to the gym with him and
I have been hooked ever since. He has been training me since then.
I was naturally strong when I began but I have made a lot of progress
over the past year. I credit my rapid gains to his training (my
hard efforts, too : )
I
have always admired the muscular look for females
but, for many years I did everything I
could to be just the opposite...thin, because that was what was
"acceptable" by many. Once I began lifting and seeing
muscle development, I felt better about myself on any given day
than all the years of running/cardio and dieting I did to be thin.
Lifting has had a huge impact on my life,
as it has made me realize who I am and where I want to go with
my life.
I
get a lot of positive feedback from people about
my muscularity and the progress that I have made over the past
year. I get some negative feedback as well, but I think that comes
with the territory. I notice that those who are positive, are
those who are happy and secure with themselves.
Have
you ever tested your strength against a male? Well......
The first time I ever armwrestled a
male was against Mike after our recent shoot, and I beat him with
both arms. Does that count? : )
What
are your future goals?
I hope to soon qualify for Nationals where I will try my efforts
at earning a Pro Card. I would
like to the many other females who work so hard to keep women's
bodybuilding alive and strong.
