Lifting Background/Beginnings: "Because of sports, I've been familiar with weightlifting since high school. However, it wasn't until after college that I wanted to be a great bodybuilder."

What empowers/motivates you as an athlete?: "The desire to different, not to be like the average Joe, to be good at what I do."

On the way people react to her physique?: "I live in Japan. Female bodybuilding is a rare sport; most Japanese frown at muscular men. Imagine seeing a muscular woman! I get both positive and ignorant comments. I just laugh it off and educate!"

On doing her part to win the battle of the sexes: "I've been tested time and time again. I don't back down from a challenge. I am always challenged at school. My students, particularly the boys like to armwretsle. I get challenged at the beach, the gym or almost anywhere. I usually come out a winner or at least leave the guy reassessing his manhood."
