"I started lifting seriously in 1997. I always wanted to do it, and I set a goal for a show in 97 and just did it at 103 pounds."

Future goals: "I would like to go as far as I can and someday. Be MS O!! Isn’t that all our dreams as bodybuilders?"

On what inspires her: "Other female bodybuilders inspire me, but God has given me the strength and the gift to do this. I have a great husband and family behind me too.

On people's reactions to her physique: "I get mainly positive response, but I get the occasional uninformed person who will make a stupid comment. Still, 99% are positive."

On herself as a kid: "I was skinny as a string bean, but was strong. But as a kid, I never did strength things with other kids. We just wanted to play!"

I was never the best athlete as a child. I always had to work hard to be the best. In college, I was not the best soccer player my freshman year, but I worked hard to be the best at my position; and it paid off.

When I knew the others may be training, I would train more. I made it all a competition. Every exercise was a race. When we practiced, I wanted to be first in everything. HARD WORK!! The only thing that ever came naturally was my arms."

On how lifting has affected her life: "Bodybuilding has helped me over come an eating disorder. It taught me how to eat and I have learned a lot about nutrition, and discipline."

I love bodybuilding and have met many fantastic women in this sport that continue to motivate me every day. I also consider them friends. My goal is to just be the best I can be.
