"I grew up about 30 minutes north of Boston and in the NH and ME area. I had three brothers and a father who owns and operates a landscaping company. I suppose that is where my love of the outdoors , trucks and sports came in. I always found strength interesting and exciting. I played sports my whole life and enjoy any physical challenge. Especially the ones they say that girls can't do."
SPORTS: volleyball, softball, bowling, diving, hurdles/shot put
"My favorite was smacking the ball in volleyball, I had to be a pretty good server because at 5'1" the net was not my friend!"
MUSCULAR AS A TEEN: "As long as I can remember I've always been strong. People have told me throughout my life that I was tough, strong-bodied and strong-minded." "I have always been able to beat up my brothers, one is 5 years older and two are younger. All three are now over 6' tall and to this day my strength, particularly in my lower body, still wins out."
LIFTING BACKGROUND: "I have been lifting for only two years this march 2005 and I've come a long way. I'm half Italian but have ALL the genetics. I had always been very curvy and at my heaviest was 160 lbs and a size 12/14!"
"The past two years have been incredible. I've droped 30+ lbs and 10 dress sizes! My original weight gain was due to a broken back I suffered in a car accident when I was 14 in 1994. I spent 3 months in a body cast and 1 year in rehab. My mom bought me a gym membersip with I was 16 to make me feel better. I was addicted from there, but I never really knew how to incorporate food, training , and lifestyle.
"Over the past 2 years, I've lost weight, changed my body shape and physique and gained about 10-15 lbs of muscle. I became a certified personal trainer to help others reach their dreams and have dedicated myself to health and fitness for life! I think I've also inspired others to take charge of their own health."

Goals: "I'd like to increase my shoulders, biceps, triceps and chest while toning down my quads. I would love to have a total gym in my house! I aspire to become one of the IFBB figure pros . I want nothing more than to stand on stage with the best. I especially admire Jenny Lynn, Davana Medina and Monica Brandt. But my first priority is to build my personal training and lifestyle coaching business.
MOTIVATION: "I'm empowered by the fact that this sport is a solo sport. Its up to you how succesful you are. Even though you have coaches, nutritionists and sponsors, you still have to cook, lift, eat, sleep and breathe this sport. Its a constant uphill climb with a potentially endless road to success. That's the exciting part to me. I love being apart from the norm, finding other women like myself and hanging with the boys at the gym, in some cases even having bigger biceps!"
PEOPLE'S REACTIONS: "I've had mixed reactons from friends and family, even from total strangers. For the most part I would say people are impressed or in awe because they don't think they could do the same for themselves. I have both men and women approach me to ask how to get ripped up." My answer is always to eat clean, train hard, be disciplined and want it bad enough.
On the negative side, I've also had many negative stares and comments about my muscular physique. Many people consider it unfeminine and strange. They can't understand why a woman would want to look like this. It used to bother me when people would stare and snicker, but I got over it. This is what I love to do. I love the way I feel and look. I am proud of my success and continued progress."
COMPETITIVENESS: I'm a scorpio, so of course I am competitive and driven. I'm an all or nothing type of gal. I don't get into anything that I'm not going to succeed at. I just never give up."
I shock all the men in the back of the gym every day when I lift heavier and with better form than them; they can't help but stare and I love that."
