I was born in Texas, lived there until I was 10 years old, moved to Hawaii for 8 years, spent 7 years in Southern California and now I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Job/School: My degree is in Mechanical Engineering. I spent 12 years doing some type of utility engineering design and then decided to pursue what I was passionate about... training and nutrition... transforming bodies and lives! I started my own business called Customized Physiques, LLC. I design customized nutrition and training plans for clients via e-mail. I also do motivational speaking, bodybuilding contests, videos, and some books will be coming out soon. I will be promoting an NPC bodybuilding contest here in Colorado Springs, Colorado April 17, 2004. Check out my website for more details.

Hobbies / Interests: I love to lift heavy!! I also love to do gymnastics. I like to learn funky dance moves to include in my bodybuilding routines. :) I like to go to movies and read books. Nature hikes are something I enjoy as well.

Favorite Movies/TV Shows: Shawshank Redemption, Matrix, and Under the Tuscan Sun. The only TV I watch is the monologue of the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. I do like Law and Order when I can find the time.

Favorite Music: 80's stuff, especially the Cars and INX. I also like funky stuff that I can dance to. I have a funk mix I do my cardio training with.

Were you always strong/athletic/muscular? I was fairly strong and athletic. I used to water ski at a very young age. 2 years old to be exact. We used to travel across the south and attend water skiiing tournaments. I did well when I was 9 - 13 years old. I also got involved in gymnastics and dance. I competed at the state meet when I was 12 years old and placed 6th in vault. Vault and power tumbling were my best events in gymnastics. Any childhood memories you can share ?

Athletic Background: I did gymnastics in Junior High School and moved onto competitive cheerleading in High School. My Junior year we competed at a state level, took 1st at the state competition and took 3rd in the nationals. I started teaching aerobics in college, just for fun. I always held onto too much bodyfat though.

How did you get involved with lifting: I tinkered with the weights when I taught aerobics, but never did much with them. I started lifting seriously in 2000 when I ran across the Body for Life book. I competed in my first contest in June of 2001.

Who are your role models in your sport? I love Corey Everson!

Has sports/lifting had a positive impact on your life and how?: Absolutely! Even though I have been somewhat athletic all my life, I have always struggled with being plump. After a tragic brain tumor almost took the life of my husband in 1992, I gave up on me.... I stopped exercising and started eating whatever I wanted. After 8 years of this, I weighed in at 244 pounds and 49% bodyfat! Whoah! That's when I got serious about changing my life. I have become passionate about helping others achieve what they had previously thought was impossible. But once they see my pictures... seeing is believing.

What empowers/motivates you as an athlete?: All of my clients who successfully change themselves inside and out.

How do strangers react to you lifting weights and/or being muscular or real athletic? When I am really lean, I get stopped wherever I go. People are full of compliments. :) My family and friends think I'm a bit obsessive about this. But I think you kind of have to be in order to achieve the leanness necessary to compete.

What are your future goals in athletics and weight lifting? I want to take the title at the Team Universe in New York City. I also want to promote the best natural contest and eventually have a contest with an obstacle course involved. I want to grow Customized Physiques into the best personal training site on the web.
