Hobbies / Interests: Lifting, Dancing, Skating, Swimming, Arts, Enjoying life. Actively pursuing certification as a personal trainer / physical fitness instructor. Jet skiing and learn how to snow & water ski.

Favorite Movies/TV Shows: Risky Business; I also love old movies like the "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers", John Wayne, Fred Aster and Ginger Rogers movies, Dancing in the Rain with Gene Kelly. They were all great dancers and accomplished entertainers. I enjoy watching TV shows, especially comedies like "My wife and Kids", "Life with Jim".

Favorite Music: Jazz, Pop, Hip Hope, R&B, Soft Rock, Christian, Country. I like all kinds of music.

Athletic Background: Over the years, I have been actively involved in volleyball, softball, track and field events, and creative dancing. I set the Hawaii State record for the 400-meter dash with a then record time of 57seconds. Also, my track team went on to break the record in the one-mile relay event in Hawaii. I’ve been lifting weights since high school. But, I didn’t start lifting seriously until I began my pursuit in fitness. That’s been roughly seven years now. Prior to that, I lifted weights just to stay in shape. But, now I lift for strength and to develop the symmetrical body required to compete on the National Fitness circuit. Weight training helps tremendously with my fitness routines because the routine requires a lot of strength and endurance.

I’ve always been athletic and strong but not necessarily muscular all of my life. I really didn’t develop what you could call "muscles" until I started to train track in high school. I can reflect back to one particular incident at Track practice when one of the male runners on our track team came up to me and measured his leg against mine. He was amazed and astonished. He went on further to say that he wished he had a set of power legs like mine. Now that I think about it, there were a lot of the boys and girls that enjoyed watching me run because they said I was fast and had strong legs.

Has lifting had a positive impact on your life and how? Yes, lifting weights has had a positive impact on my life. Not only does it offer an outlet for me to relieve stress, but I’m in the best shape of my life and my body looks better now then it ever has. I have three children that range in age from 18 years old to 22 years old. When people see me with my daughters, they think I’m their sister not their mother. Just recently someone said to me "They didn’t know who was the daughter and who was the mother". I’ve always felt that you don’t have to look like you have kids. There is no shame in looking your personal best kids or no kids.

What empowers/motivates you as an athlete? Being on the fitness stage competing against girls half my age and showing everyone that there is a reward for hard work. I’m motivated to train even harder when I see the changes in my body. It takes extreme dedication to train on the National circuit. I’m dedicated to the sport, but it also takes the support of my husband, kids, family members and friends to see me through the low points. Not to mention, the encouragement and support from people telling me how proud they are of me for what I’m involved in.

What's your strongest muscle group, what do you consider your weakest? My strongest muscles are my legs. I’m told all the time that I have strong legs. Now that I think about it, I really don’t have any weak areas. That’s because I work hard on all areas. I believe you must work the whole body for it to be strong.

How do people, men in particular, react to you lifting weights and/or being muscular? I receive a very good reaction from both men and women. They like the way my body looks. I have had men ask me how they can get their legs cut, bigger or how to work their gluts.

What are your future goals in athletics and weight lifting? My future goal is to obtain my professional card in fitness. Get involved in the entertainment industry, say movies, and modeling. With the hopes of signing on with a Fitness/Nutrition Company as a spokesperson. Ultimately, I want to own my own business promoting good health and fitness. Along with training other girls for fitness and figure competitions. The bottom line is this; I want to be a role model for boys and girls as well as younger and older women to show them that you can be fit at any age.

I’m a fun loving and outgoing person who enjoys helping people anyway that I can. I want people to feel good about themselves. There are too many people not enjoying life to the fullest. For those businesses looking for someone dependable and easy to work with, I the person for you. I can promote health, fitness and beauty products. To contact me, I can be reached at my e-mail address above.
