These pictures were taken several days after the 2002 NPC Nationals in November. This was Elena's first year as a middleweight and she did quite well by placing 4th in her weight class out of a field of 23 competitors. Given her placing as a top 5 national calibre middleweight combined with her previous high placings as a lightweight, Elena has to be considered one of the top amateur female bodybuilders in the country.
